Is Don Juan’s the best Mexican food in WNY?
They are offering free food to federal employees impacted by the recent government shutdown.
It has been just over a month since the government shutdown and about 800,000 federal employees have either been deemed essential to working without pay or are furloughed. The impact is taking a toll on more than just their employment, it is affecting their families. Many without savings are forced to take out loans, borrow money from families, and/or utilize public programs to help to support them in this time of need. Fortunately, there is light at the end of the tunnel since President Trump signed the guarantee to provide back pay to federal employees impacted by the shutdown on January 11th; however, it is not helping today.
Buffalo has been called the City of Good Neighbors” more than once and local restaurants have stepped to the plate to offer free or discounted food to federal employees impacted by the shutdown.
Step forward WNY Best Mexican Food restaurant, Don Juan’s which is located at 484 Harlem Rd in West Seneca. They have become a favorite in the community for more than just their food and dedication to customer experience. They offer 10% discounts for 1st responders, are proud members of the Erie County “Thank a Vet program”, have an annual community Easter egg hunt, and now they are offering free 2+2 combo platters to impacted federal employees on 1/31/2019 and 2/7/2019. Yes, the President went on today to announce a three-week window but with the expectation to shut it back down in three weeks… We can only hope that this entire ordeal ends sooner rather than later but, in the meantime, it is great that local businesses like Don Juan’s are stepping to the plate to be a good neighbor.
